July 11 – 14, Presented Live on Zoom

Virtual Arts announces its first-ever online Theater Kids Camp!

Join Virtual Arts for four days of virtual theatrical training and fun!

Virtual Arts is proud to present a theater kids camp like you’ve never seen before! Staffed by some of the entertainment industry’s finest professionals, these artists will guide your children online through four fun-packed days of Zoom sessions during which they will write, cast, direct, costume, and perform their own 15 minute mini-show. Your kids will be immersed in every facet of production, all in the comfort of their own home. The only requirement to participate is a stable internet connection and a device capable of running the most current version of Zoom. They must also be able to record and send video. All other materials will be provided or able to be found around your home.  Ages 10-14 welcome!

Meet the staff

The Virtual Arts Theater Kids Camp Staff for 2022 are Michael Gonalez, Janine Molinari, Gret Menzies, Larry Pellegrini, Juan de Armas, and Christy Patti.

From all walks of the theatrical world, our team of instructors include a Broadway  musical director, a Broadway choreographer, and Off-Broadway and Regional playwrights, directors, coaches, costume designers, and stage managers.

This camp will take place completely on Zoom July 11-14, 2022. Camp will be comprised of 4 daily sessions, plus a live Zoom performance presented on the evening of the 14th. Over the course of the sessions, campers will be challenged to brainstorm, write their own script, song lyrics, and choreography, and design and create their own costumes and make-up. They will then perform their completely original piece, including a pre-produced music video as a closing number. Your child will receive professional-level training in acting, writing, movement/choreography, vocals, costuming and make-up creation, plus an introduction to the technical aspects of theatrical production on the virtual Zoom stage. Additionally, they will have access to an individual Zoom coaching session with the instructor of their choice.

Requirements for Participants

Participants will need access to a computer with Zoom that will enable them to participate in every daily Zoom session (reasonable exceptions may apply at the Camp Director’s discretion) and the performance. They will also be required to create a video of themselves (on a mobile device or computer) singing their part in the closing number to be submitted to a video editor for compilation.

TuitionTuition is only $100 per child (family discounts available for multiple participants in the same household), and includes a recording of the show. Tuition also includes a Virtual VIP Q&A with a Broadway star!
